Indian mkts outperform their Asian peers

Indian markets are outperforming their Asian peers by around 9-10%. The Indian markets have outperformed MSCI Asia by around 2-3% and outperformed the Dow Jones by 1-2% taking into account today’s fall.

Today's was the third largest single day point fall for Sensex ever. On May 18, 06, it fell 826.37 points, on Oct 18, 07, it fell 717.41 points and on Nov 21, 07, it fell 678.8 points. Still, the Indian markets are outperforming their Asian peers by around 9-10%. The Indian markets have outperformed MSCI Asia by around 2-3% and outperformed the Dow Jones by 1-2% taking into account today’s fall.

The fall of Indian markets in line with the EMs is as follows:

Hang Seng down 16%
Nikkei down 15%
Shanghai down 15%
Taiwan down 14%
Straits Times down 14%
Korea down 13%
Sensex down 6.5%
