Sensex up 347 pts at 19084; Nifty up 78 pts at 5695

Sensex was up 347 pts at 19084, recovered over 400 pts from day’s low. Nifty was up 78 pts at 5695, recovered over 100 pts from day’s low. All BSE Sectoral Indices ended in the green barring IT Index. CNX Midcap index was up 2% while BSE Small-cap index was up 2%.

Markets remain on a strong footing, gets fillip in late trade on IAEA news. Large cap stocks joined mid-cap party in late trade. Sensex was up 347 points at 19084. It recovered over 400 points from day’s low. Nifty was up 78 points at 5695. It recovered over 100 points from day’s low. All BSE Sectoral Indices ended in the green barring IT Index. CNX Midcap index was up 2% while BSE Small-cap index was up 2%. BSE Cap-goods Index was up 3.7%, in which NTPC was up 8%, L&T was up 5.5%, ABB was up 4.8%, Tata Power was up 3.4% and Suzlon was up 3.4%. BSE Bank Index was up 4%, in which HDFC was up 6.6% and ICICI Bank was up 2.5%. Small/Mid-cap steel stocks continued to buzz. Ispat, Lloyds Steel, Uttam Galva were up 10%. Only IT Index ended in the red and was down 1%. IT companies continued to hit 52 week lows. Infosys, TCS, Patni, Tech Mahindra, Hexaware hit 52 week low. NSE Advance Decline ratio jumped to 2:1 from 2:5 yesterday. Total market turnover was at Rs 94,907 crore Vs Rs 80,479 crore on Thursday. FNO turnover was at Rs 67,336 crore Vs 56,771 crore on 8th Nov.

Global Markets today:
Asian markets recovered from days low. Hang Seng, Korea led the recovery. Shanghai ended in the red after opening strong.

Hang Seng: Investors were expecting a rebound as the index has lost nearly 4000 points from its recent highs. Approval process for mainland funds to invest in Hong Kong markets has accelerated.

Shanghai: Shanghai was down 0.60%, down nearly 3% from days high. China's October Inflation hits 11-year high at 6.5%; fearing investors of interest rate hike in the near future.

Nikkei: Nikkei was down 0.50%. Shinsei Bank’s 1H profit plunged 40%. Yen appreciated by 20 bps at Yen109.87/$1.

Taiwan: Benchmark index rebounded from a 10-week low boosted by non-tech issue gains. FIIs sell equities worth $ 409 million in today’s trade (Prov). FIIs have sold nearly $ 1 billion in last 2 days including today.
